Hired quad bike, the proposed excursion traverses the picturesque Giumentina Valley, offering spectacular views and the chance to visit historic sites that testify to human presence since the Paleolithic period. After admiring the picturesque village of Decontra di Caramanico, you will proceed along a loop trail that includes a slightly difficult technical section, making the hike more adventurous.

Along the way, you will make a stop to admire the Hermitage of San Bartolomeo in the Vallata di Santo Spirito. Next, you will continue along the loop descending to the Giumentina Valley and make a final stop to visit the "Tholos Village," an outdoor Paleolithic Ecomuseum. This museum, built ten years ago in front of one of the oldest Paleolithic archaeological excavation sites in Europe, represents an agro-pastoral village with stone huts that provide valuable information about the history of the area and its people.

1h30 tour From the Village to the Valley between history and nature

The quad bike tour starts from Roccamorice, famous for the Hermitages of San Bartolomeo and Santo Spirito. You will then cross the "Piano delle Castagne" along the paths of the "Valle Donica."

During the hike you will be able to admire hilly landscapes, valleys and mountains such as Majella, Morrone and Gran Sasso. You will then make a stop at the "Bitumen Mines" where prisoners from the prison camp and local people worked to build a cement factory.

On the return trip along the loop of the hike, you will see an agro-pastoral village with enclosure walls and a Tholos. During stops along the way, your guide will provide you with information about the area and the most important historical stages related to its human population.
