Lunch in a mountain hut in Valmalenco above Chiesa

The Ca Runcasch mountain hut is located at 2170 m asl, in the heart of one of the most beautiful valleys in Lombardy, between Alpe Campagneda and Pizzo Scalino, in the upper Valmalenco, in the province of Sondrio.

The refuge cannot be reached by car. The shortest route is from the parking lot just before Campo Moro which takes about 45 minutes, on a dirt road and without a large elevation gain. In winter, snowshoes are recommended.

There are two menù menus to choose from, in both of which drinks are excluded:

Menù 1

•    Antipasto: Salami platter and sciat.
•    Second course: Polenta with venison salmì.
•    Sweet of the day.

Menù 2:

•    Mixed sliced meats and cheeses.
•    Second course: polenta with grilled sausage.
•    Cheese or dessert of the day.

The hut is the starting point of several trails of varying difficulty, from the ascent to Pizzo Scalino and other treks, to simple but suggestive walks to the Pizzo Scalino springs or the periglacial lakes of Campagneda.
