1. Skiing in Bormio or Santa Caterina
Bormio is the site of ski championships every year, especially famous for its very wide and long 'Olympic' slope dedicated to competitions. The Bormio ski area is on two mountains, and has 14 lifts, 17 slopes, 1 snowpark; lifts are usually open from 8am to 4:30pm (when it starts to get dark). The slopes are concentrated from 2300m to 3000m.
The longest descent (from the highest peak to the lowest lift) is over 1000m in elevation gain, and takes a 15 minutes. Outside of this, the slopes are of medium length, but pleasant. In a day, you will find yourself doing the same slopes 2-3 times.
In addition, there are restaurants on the slopes where you can stop and eat well.
Also close to Bormio is Santa Caterina Valfurva (20 minutes by car), with a smaller but very nice and quaint ski area, less commercial, higher up (3000 m).

We feel good and share them :) - The Free Baths of Bormio, the Baths of Leonardo

Enjoy a typical Valtellina dinner on the ski slopes with an incredible view of the town of Bormio.
On the snowmobile it is possible to board 2-3 people at a time, eventually the snowcat will be available.

4. Walk with alpacas, ideal for children
Walking with alpacas in in Valdidentro between Bormio and Livigno è a’whole experience to be enjoyed in the company of docile and curious animals, trained to be walked easily. Alpacas have a good temperament and a very sweet and friendly appearance.

A snowmobile ride to the top of the Eira Pass, to reach the Crap della Parè, is what you're looking for if you want to enjoy one of the most beautiful vantage points in the country that allows you to see the entire valley of Livigno.
The ride takes about 45 minutes and the start is near Trepalle, on the road to Livigno.
If you want to explore Livigno from a different perspective, this is a super fun option to try: you ride in the snow and reach places where it's difficult to get to on foot or even by lifts

The horseback ride has its starting point at the riding stables, in Bormio, where you will find an experienced equestrian guide ready to explain how to use the horse's equipment and mount it safely.

9. Sledding in Arnoga
Sled dog rides in the snow
Very beautiful and evocative. We put it last given the low accessibility and availability that make it not for everyone. The cost is 150€ for adults (over 13 years old), and 80€ for children up to 12 years old. Children under 3 years old cannot participate.
Sledding by sled starts when there is sufficient snow cover; you need a good snowfall, of 50-100cm. It can also be done with little snow, but the sled is replaced by a wheeled cart kart (similar to a small bicycle).
For all info, visit the hike website
10. Day trip to Livigno
Livigno has so much to offer: shopping, adventure, ... and lots of cold 🥶
Milk, shopping, and more
We are not particular fans of shopping, but we know that many are 😄 One note of caution though : even if you don't pay VAT, many times merchants know about it ... and raise prices.
Apart from that, Livigno, the 'Little Tibet' halfway between Italy and Switzerland, is definitely worth a visit - the atmosphere is magical and there is an incredible energy: people out and about doing sports, shopping, tasting, and anything and everything beyond what you can imagine
11. Family bobsleigh at Cima Piazzi - closed winter 2023
Rail bobsleigh that takes advantage of the natural slope of the mountain for over 600 meters in length.
Located in front of the Conca Bianca hut, at the arrival of the Isolaccia-Pian della Mota gondola, the Family Bob is accessible to everyone, alone or in pairs, from 4 years of age (up to 8 years of age, it is mandatory to be accompanied by an adult).
Just like in a high-altitude roller coaster, after a short automated ascent you can launch yourself into a hilarious descent in complete safety: the bobsleigh can reach up to 40 km/h and is equipped with a brake to regulate speed, as well as the indispensable seat belts. It is, of course, forbidden to rear-end other bobsleighs
