1. Boat excursions in the Gulf of Orosei
If you plan to spend a day in the vicinity of Orosei , you cannot miss a boat tour to discover the coast's most striking beaches and caves. You can decide to opt for a half-day or full-day excursion, with bathroom stops and the possibility of lunch and aperitif on board.
Prices range from 25€ to 150€ per person depending on the duration of the experience, type of boat, addition of lunch and/or aperitif and the possibility of booking a private tour.

2. Su Barone beach
Su Barone Beach, located in Marina di Orosei, is a long expanse of fine, slightly amber sand. The seabed is sandy and quickly becomes deep.
The strong point of this beach is the ease with which it can be reached, being close to the town of Orosei. The beach is surrounded by a green pine forest and the Petrosu pond, which is a great place to admire the grey herons that populate this picturesque coastline.
Parking in the pine forest costs €5 and will allow your car to stay in the shade
3. Cape Comino: the most picturesque beach
Capo Comino beach, located north of Orosei, is renowned for its fine white sand dunes that stretch for miles along the sea.
To reach Capo Comino, you can take the SS125 from Olbia or Nuoro, following the signs to Siniscola and then to the Capo Comino resort. For adventure lovers, in addition to the beautiful beach, there are numerous wild coves in the surrounding area, ideal for snorkeling and diving.
The area is also perfect for hiking or biking, thanks to scenic trails that offer breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding hills
4. Excursions to Biderosa beach by canoe and kayak
Biderosa Beach, located in the Biderosa Nature Reserve, is an ideal place for kayakers and canoeists. The calm, crystal clear waters and hidden coves offer a unique experience of exploration.
You can rent kayaks for a group experience for up to 10 people. The price per person is around 35€, and allows you to follow a coastal route of about 2km that can be covered in 2 hours, always in the company of a local guide.
If you are not a kayak lover no problem, you can always book a boat ride that will allow you to explore the coves accompanied by an aperitif on board!
5. Horseback riding on the beaches of Orosei
Explore the Orosei coast on horseback, trails are suitable for hikers of all levels.
Experienced guides will accompany you on the hike, enriching the journey with local curiosities. The walk will include fording the ponds in theBiderosa oasis, and it is recommended to do it around sunset.
The cost of a horseback ride by the sea starts from 25€ for a ride of about an hour, with the possibility then to organize a lunch of typical products at the riding school
6. Sea Ox Caves
About a 40-minute drive from Orosei, the Sea Ox Caves await you. They stretch for 15 km and are named after the monk seal, once called "sea ox" for its ox-like sound. Every year, the caves host the Cala Gonone Jazz Festival.
The entrance to the Caves is located 3km from Cala Luna. Inside, you can explore the south branch with stalactites, stalagmites and Neolithic rock carvings. The price of a guided tour of the Caves is 10€ for adults and 5€ for children.
The Caves are accessible daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you can also reach them from Cala Gonone with a boat tour starting at 25€ per person with an experience that includes bathroom stops and an aperitif on board
7. Snorkeling in Cala Ginepro
Cala Ginepro, is an ideal snorkeling destination. The crystal-clear, shallow waters of this cove offer the opportunity to explore a rich and varied seafloor.
You can venture among reefs and coral formations, admiring the local marine life that includes colorful fish, mollusks, and sometimes even sea turtles.
The site is easily accessible by road; you can rent snorkeling equipment at the Ginepro Cove campsite, where you can also rent pedal boats and kayaks from June 1 to September 30
8. Trekking the Gorropu Gorge
About 40 minutes drive from Orosei, following the SS125 and leaving the car at the Gola Gorropu base camp. Of the 4 trekking routes that run through the gorge, 3 are accessible to everyone, while the last one is for experts, who are also equipped. The easiest route covers 6km, and an elevation gain of just 50 meters. The entrance fee into the canyon is 5€.
You can also reach the starting point for canyon hikes from the sheepfold Su Monte Orrùbiu via an easy trail that runs along the Rio Flumineddu in about 45 minutes. Here, you can opt for guided trekking excursions or scenic jeep tours, with prices ranging from 28€ to 95€ per person.
At Gorropu you can find rare species such as the nuragic columbine and the euprotto, along with mouflon and golden eagles, but the real attraction are the majestic walls more than 450 meters high, through which you can walk even with children
9. S'Abba Frisca Museum Park
The Park Museum s'Abba Frisca, offers a unique experience combining nature and history. Visitors can explore a natural environment rich in Mediterranean vegetation and enjoy breathtaking views.
Within the park, it is possible to visit the nuragic site of S'Abba Frisca and other archaeological artifacts that testify to the island's ancient nuragic civilization.
The park is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the guided tour lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes, costing €13 for adults and €7 for children
10. Typical dishes in Orosei
For those on vacation in Orosei or simply planning to spend a day there, it is highly recommended to take time to sample its gastronomic specialties.
Among the most famous: Pane Frattau,a local interpretation of lasagna with Carasau bread, tomato, pecorino cheese and poached egg. Then you can't miss Macarrones Furriaos, durum wheat pasta topped with sheep's cheese, a dish that tells the story of the tradition of local shepherds. Among the main courses, you should definitely try the Roast Porcetto, cooked over aromatic herbs. To finish, be tempted by Seadas, fried ravioli filled with melted cheese, and the dessert "S'Aranzada," with honey, orange peel and almonds.
These culinary delicacies are a testament to the rich gastronomic culture of the region, which should definitely be enjoyed during your visit to Orosei!
11. Walk through the streets of the village
If you don't know what to do during the evening, a tour of Orosei's historic center might be a pleasant change.
You can admire the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore, an example of 17th-century religious architecture, and the Museo Civico di Orosei, which on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays remains open until 9 p.m. Here you can find archaeological exhibits and evidence of local history. The entrance fee is €2.50 and €1.50 for children.
The characteristic narrow streets of the historic center also offer the opportunity to admire traditional Sardinian architecture and discover small craft stores. Then don't forget to stroll along the waterfront and visit the Marceddì Tower, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the coast
