1. Immaculate Conception bridge in the mountains

Dolomites

The Dolomites await you with various experiences to try, starting from a panoramic snowmobile tour, up to relaxing snowshoeing on the fresh snow at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. For the more adventurous little ones, we suggest a fun walk with alpacas or an adrenaline-filled descent with a sledor.

Bormio and Livigno

In Valtellina, however, Bormio and Livigno offer unique mountain destinations, each with its own distinctive charm.

Bormio surrounded by imposing peaks, offers a solution for those seeking well-being and tranquility with its spas or with a dinner-in-rifugio-con-giro-in-motoslitta-a-bormio, while for ski lovers, the slopes of Bormio are renowned for offering spectacular scenery.

Livigno is an ideal destination for winter sports and duty-free shopping enthusiasts. The city offers various activities fun and adrenaline-filled like a snowmobile ride or ice kart, while the city center offers a tax-free shopping experience in a unique Alpine setting

2. Christmas markets at the Immaculate Conception Bridge

The tradition of Christmas markets has also taken hold in Italy, involving every village, town and city organizing its own Christmas market, and drawing up a list is almost impossible. Here we would like to suggest a few.

Trentino Alto Adige is definitely one of the most renowned regions when it comes to markets. Certainly the most important is the market set up in Trento, but those in Molveno, Brunico and Rovereto are also worth a visit.

The towns and villages of Tuscany are also preparing to welcome you with their markets. FIrenze, Chianciano Terme and Montepulciano, are all charming destinations to spend a weekend away.

We have mentioned some of the most popular destinations for Christmas markets but there are many other destinations also worth visiting, and you can find more information here.

3. Immaculate Conception Bridge 2023 school

On December 8, schools will be closed throughout Italy; unfortunately, the regions where institutions will also be closed on the 9th are only Veneto, Molise and Calabria.

Despite this, attendance at school will certainly not be an obstacle to spending an unforgettable weekend in the mountains or discovering the best Christmas markets.

4. Immaculate Conception Bridge Offers 2023

If you want to leave Italy and spend a weekend in a European city, you can take advantage of the offers of airlines or train companies to take a trip abroad, for around 100 euros.

Brussels transforms into a magnificent city during the Christmas period and with Ryanair it is possible to get there with very cheap flights. In addition to the spectacular lighting that colors the Grande-Place, the Christmas Markets of Brussels come to life, which begin on the first weekend of December.

Germany on the other hand is renowned as the kingdom of Christmas Markets, making German cities the ideal destination for fans of the genre. With Easyjet you can fly to the Christmas markets of Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Stuttgart starting from 60 euros per person.

An unmissable stop are the markets of Vienna. The city squares are transformed into Christmas villages, full of sparkling lights, the smell of sweets and mulled wine. The most famous market is the one in front of the Town Hall.

In addition to these destinations, you can always opt for great classics such as London or Paris

5. Festival of Lights in Lyon

Now an established tradition, the Festival of Lights in Lyon takes place every year in early December. This event provides an opportunity to explore the city from an artistic perspective, immersing oneself in a festive atmosphere that anticipates the magic of Christmas.

Over the course of four days, from December 7 to 10 this year, Lyon will be transformed into an explosion of colors and lights. The streets, squares and facades of the city's most emblematic monuments will light up thanks to art installations created by talented artists, designers and video makers. An extraordinary experience to experience the beauty of an unusual European city.

6. Manarola Nativity

In case you want to stay in Italy, Manarola, one of the five picturesque villages of Cinque Terre in Liguria, hosts a fascinating nativity scene every December. This representation is known as one of the largest and most beautiful in the world.

It spans the village and surrounding hills, presenting hundreds of illuminated figures, including life-size peasants, shepherds, angels and camels. Made from recycled materials, these figures are illuminated by more than 15,000 multicolored bulbs powered by a photovoltaic system. The luminous profile of the Nativity hut dominates the hilltop, watching over Manarola.

It is unveiled on December 8 in a quaint village ceremony

7. Discovery of Candelo

Candelo, recognized as one of Italy's most charming villages, is famous for its intricate medieval center, featuring picturesque cobblestone streets, museum spaces, art stores and 14th-century buildings. Located in the Baragge Oriented Nature Reserve, the village is transformed during December into an atmospheric Santa Claus village.

In addition, just over an hour from the village, we offer an unmissable dinner at altitude in Gressoney, a unique opportunity to spend an evening immersed in the snowy landscapes of the Aosta Valley, at the foot of Monte Rosa.
