Dinner at a typical crotto in Piuro near Chiavenna

The dinner at Crotto Belvedere è an opportunity to discover the food and wine culture of Valchiavenna. The menuù of the dinner includes an appetizer with sciatt and cured meats, a bis of first courses, a mixed second course with polenta and, for dessert, the biscottino di Prosto, a typical local dessert. Water and caffè are included, while extra drinks are excluded. 

Before sitting at the table, it will be possible to participate in a short guided tour of the crotto, the typical Valchiavenna tavern. The crotto was originally the cellar of Chiavenna houses, built as a natural refrigerator for curing cold meats and cheeses thanks to Sorèl, a current of fresh air from underground.

The crotto, as a tavern, serves traditional local foods and consists of three spaces: the dining room, the outdoor area with stone tables and the wine cellar.

In addition to dinner è it is possible to book an overnight stay, with or without spa access, at Albergo Piuro, a 5-minute walk from Crotto Belvedere. The stay è can be booked for two people and also includes buffet breakfast in the hotel. Access to the spa è exclusive duration of 2 hours, a courtesy kit with slippers and bathrobe will be provided.
