1. Reit Cross Walk
Reit Cross
The walk to the Reit Cross is a hike of medium difficulty with a length of about 5.99 kilometers and an expected duration of about 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The trail begins at the picturesque Combo Square, from where it continues by crossing the Combo Bridge. From here, the walk proceeds along the Ripa Guarda Nazionale and then Castello Street, before turning onto the S532 trail. This section of the trail has a significant climb, but it is well marked and has numerous numbered switchbacks that make the walk easier.
The route continues along the Reit Foothill Trail S533, and after turning left for about 200 meters, you will have a chance to see the trail that will lead you to your destination: the Reit Cross.
The final part of the walk offers spectacular views, despite the steep climb in some sections. Here, the trail winds through a forest of firs, larches, lodgepole pines and mountain pines, creating a relaxing and immersive atmosphere.
Arriving at Croce della Reit, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view that encompasses the entire valley, extending from Valfurva to Valdidentro, with a splendid view of Valdisotto.
2. Walk on the High Glaciological Trail

The High Glaciological Trail is a medium-difficulty hike of about 8.22 kilometers, with an expected duration of about 3 hours and 5 minutes.
This fascinating trekking trail in Lombardy is located in the beautiful Forni Valley in the Valfurva region and offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the glacial beauty of this alpine area.
The starting and finishing point is the Forni Parking Area, which makes the trail very accessible for visitors.
The trail was partially constructed in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the Italian Glaciological Committee.
It runs along the Forni Valley and provides an opportunity to explore the glacier of the same name and understand the natural events that have shaped the morphology of the valley over time.
High Glaciological Trail
The trail follows a series of well-marked signs, initially descending briefly to the stream and crossing the bridge before ascending a distinctive stone staircase.
The trail continues climbing gradually up the hillside, passing through an area where well-preserved remnants of military emplacements from World War I (1915-1918) can be seen. Thereafter, there are uphill and downhill sections until a small bridge is reached.
One of the most exciting moments of the trail is when you cross two characteristic Tibetan bridges, offering a unique experience as you walk suspended over water.
You then continue downhill on the right side of the stream, crossing the small Ro'sole lake, until you reach the Branca Shelter for a well-deserved break.
Finally, the return to the Forni is made by following a cart track, thus completing a beautiful loop hike in Bormio that mixes nature, history and adventure in one of the most fascinating areas of the Italian Alps.
3. Panoramic Walk in Val Zebrù

The Val Ze brù Panoramic Walk is a fascinating hike that offers visitors the opportunity to explore the natural and wild beauty of Val Zebrù, located in the Madonna dei Monti area. This trekking route has a length of approximately 18.87 kilometers and is classified as medium difficulty, with an expected duration of about 6 hours and 20 minutes.
The starting and finishing point is the hamlet of Niblogo. From here, follow the S529 roadway that leads to Val Zebrù.
The hike begins by crossing the Peceneccia bridge, from which you take the road to the left that leads into the valley proper. Along this part of the trail, you will walk briefly alongside the course of the stream, providing a refreshing atmosphere and breathtaking panoramic views of the valley.
The trail initially passes through dense forests. This part is characterized by deep valleys and green terraces, often dotted with characteristic alpine huts.
During the hike, it is possible to spot local wildlife, including ungulates such as chamois or ibex, as well as the majestic bearded vulture, a species of vulture recently reintroduced to Stelvio National Park.
Upon reaching the Campo huts, located at an elevation of 1948 meters, the trail heads right along a steep winding path, leading to the detour to the Costantini bivouac. From here, the trail continues on a mostly level path, identified as trail S526, until it reaches the Cavallaro huts.
The trail then descends along a winding path, marked as trail S527, bringing you back to the driveway in the vicinity of Ristoro Zebrù. From here, you can return to the hamlet of Niblogo, thus completing the hike.
4. Walk in Val Viola

TheVal Viola loop trail is a popular hike around Bormio, ideal for hikers and cyclists. It starts in Arnoga and passes picturesque huts such as Premoglia and Campo. After crossing a stream at Stagimel, the trail enters the forest and offers spectacular panoramic views. The vegetation becomes sparser as you climb in altitude.
After about 5 kilometers, you reach the Altumeria huts at 2116 meters. Here, there is a junction that allows you to head toward the Dosdé Cantone Valley. Continuing between Corno di Dosdè and Pizzo Bianco, you reach Rifugio Viola at 2314 meters, with views of Laghetto Viola. The trail continues to the Val Viola Pass, marking the border with Switzerland and opening the way to Val Poschiavina.
The entire loop trail is about 11 kilometers long and can be walked in 3-4 hours. The total elevation gain is about 500 meters, making the trail accessible to a wide range of hikers, including children, and is characterized by easy difficulty.
It is important to note that in winter, guides also organize and accompany snowshoe hikes on this route, providing a unique experience in the snowy season.
5. Walk from Bormio 2000 to Bormio 3000

The walk begins in Bormio 2000 and winds through an initially fairly easy dirt road characterized by a slight incline. On the way, you pass through the picturesque Shepherd's Hut and the picturesque Sobretta Valley.
As you progress, you reach the Bocca di Profa and the Laghetti, a real hidden gem along the way.
The trail offers a variety of difficulty levels, with stretches ranging from easy (T1) to moderate (T2), and only toward the final part do some more demanding challenges (T3) present themselves. This makes the hike suitable for hikers of varying abilities.
The highlight of the hike is Bormio 3000, exactly the Heaven 3000 hut, located on Cima Bianca. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and relax before embarking on the return journey.
If you prefer a smoother return route, you can use the cable car that takes you directly to Bormio 2000.
