1. Lakeside and historic center of Toscolano Maderno

The municipality of Toscolano Maderno, located on the western shore of Lake Garda, has Roman origins.

We recommend that you enjoy a pleasant walk along the lake, starting from the Basilica di Sant'Andrea and arriving all the way to the'ancient port.

From the harbor you can admire an impressive panora with partial views of the lake. In addition, you will find Palazzo Delai, a historic building surrounded by lemon groves the è reserved for private events and not è open to the public.

2. Horseback riding with a view of the lake

One of the experiences we recommend è the horseback ride on the hills overlooking Lake Garda. 

The experience è suitable for everyone from 14 years old and includes a ride through the countryside and woods, from where you can admire the view.

The duration can vary from 1 to 2 hours andè lunch or dinner will be provided after the experience. The cost starts from 40€ per person.

3. Visit to the paper museum

The paper museum, surrounded by greenery, è easily reached by a 20-minute walk from the center of Toscolano. 

The museum è can be visited daily and the entrance fee is about 7€ per person. Every Saturday, in addition to the guided tour, you can participate in a papermaking workshop.

4. Trekking in the Valley of the Paper Mills

This sentiero è can be walked in about 2 hours and travels through several scenic hilly landscapes, with a low difficulty.

The route begins in the center of Toscolano, then continues to the paper museum. Arriving near two galleries you will find Luseti, a complex of ancient paper mills.

5. Visit at the Botanical Garden

The'Botanical Garden, established in 1964 as the Experimental Agricultural Station, è become home to numerous medicinal plants from around the world.          

Since 2012 è managed by the department of the University of Milan, and è open to the public free on the occasion of events or guided tours.

6. Roman villa of the Nonii Arrii

A few steps from the city center, you can find the remains of the archaeological site dating back to the I century AD.

The villa, in ancient times,  stood facing the lake and was the luxurious residence of the Brescian Nonii family. This site was part of the family's many estates in the area.

You can currently visit only the southern section. It is scheduled to be open to the public during the summer period every sSaturdays and dSundays and the visit is free.

The site is open to the public.

7. Historic Glimpse of Palazzo Bulgheroni

Walking through Toscolano, you will end up in front of the Palazzo Bulgheroni, a historic building that began as a convent and was later purchased by the Duke of Mantua.

It is currently privately owned and cannot be visited. However, we recommend admiring from the entrance gate: the garden, the magnificent lemon house and the facade of the palace.

8. The Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera

In Gardone Riviera, not far from Toscolano Maderno, you can visit the home of the famous Italian poet, Gabriele d'Annunzio.

The historic building is a complex of buildings, streets and ponds, surrounded by greenery.

It can be visited completely, choosing different types of packages. The complex is open daily, and the ticket cost is about 15€ per person.
