What to do on November 1st: where to go for the All Saints' Day holiday 2024

The All Saints Day bridge this year gives us an incredible opportunity: the fact that November 1 falls on Friday, thereò will allow you to turn the weekend into a real short trip.

1. Alba and the Monferrato

Alba and the Monferrato, are a perfect destination to spend these 3 days off. 

In Alba, during this time, you can try the White Truffle Festival. In addition to tasting various dishes, you can see show cooking and visit historic buildings.

But that's not all, other possible activities await you: from wine cellar tastings, to visiting the historic center of Asti and Alba, to circular trekking to Cereseto Castle.

2. Florence

A perfect stop for this long weekend is Florence. From touring the historic center, visiting the Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens and Uffizi Gallery . its imposing dome of the Duomo, designed by Brunelleschi and its bell tower by Giotto.

Also, for a more unusual experience you can go rafting on the Arno River to thrill yourself by seeing the city, from a 'different perspective or walk with alpacas in the Florentine hills.

3. Lake Garda

Lake Garda è a perfect destination for this long weekend, in fact, you can stroll along the lakefront, or visit the villages Desenzano and Peschiera del Garda, which offer priceless views of the lake and give you various excursions.

Among the various activities we recommend: a 9-hour Vespa ride of the entire Lake Garda, or a visit to the historic center inside the Scaliger Castle of Sirmione.

But not only that, in fact, you can take a trip to one of the many amusement parks in the area, such as Gardaland, which for the occasion will be set up in a Halloween theme.

To enjoy a day in the sun, you could take a boat ride or a e-bike ride on the lakefront.

4. Tuscia Viterbese

The tuscia viterbese on the border between Latium, Umbria and Tuscany is a hilly area full of historic villages and views typical of central Italy.

You may have the opportunity to visit: the Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo, with grotesque sculptures scattered in a surreal landscape, or Civita di Bagnoregio, also referred to as the dying village.

To admire 16th-century art in the area you can visit Villa Lante in Bagnaia and Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, with its typical pentagonal shape.

In the area you will have the opportunity to try several horseback rides, both in the hilly landscapes and on the shores of Lake Bolsena.

5. Siena and San Gimignano

Siena, a city nestled in the Tuscan hills, offers breathtaking views. There are several attractions to visit: Piazza del Campo, with its imposing tower, home to the Palazzo Pubblico. Visiting it you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the cityà.

In addition, you can visit the Siena Cathedral, from the Romanesque-Gothic style and savor the history of the famous Palio of Siena and its contrade.

Making a stop in San Gimignano, you can take a stroll through the historic center and concur a relaxing break in a farmhouse. We suggest the Locanda dei Logi, the Fattoria San Donato and the Tenuta Sovestro.

Finally, you'll have the opportunity to horseback riding among the Tuscan hills or go truffle hunting in the woods.

6. Naples

The historic center of Naples è a must for those visiting the city. Among the main sights to see are the Duomo di San Gennaro, the Church of Santa Chiara and the San Gregorio Armeno street, famous for its nativity scene artisans. 

Spaccanapoli è the perfect half to experience the real Naples. In addition, the Naples waterfront offers spectacular views of the Gulf and Mount Vesuvius.

You can visit the Castel dell'Ovo and nearby Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace and the San Carlo Theater. 

To see the city from above, we suggest Posillipo and its viewpoints,but also the Castle of Sant'Elmo, which can be reached by the Montesanto funicular.

8. Castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza

To take a dip into the past, we offer a tour of the castles of the duchy of Parma and Piacenza. The choice è truly vast, there are about thirty scattered throughout the Parma/Piacentino territory.

9. Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast è consists of several small villages overlooking the sea, including: Positano, Maiori, Minori, Praiano, Vietri sul Mare.

You can admire the view by walking along the Sentiero degli Dei, or take a boat trip or, finally, you can become ceramisti for a day in a store in Vietri sul Mare.

We suggest a visit to Villa Marittima romana, Minori or a walk in Positano among the workshops dedicated to the making of handmade sandals.

To treat yourself to a break by the sea, you can take a boat ride to the Emerald Grotto or relax at the beach at Fjord of Furore.

10. Franciacorta and Lake Iseo

The Franciacorta, a hilly area located between Brescia and Lake d'Iseo, offers the opportunity to try different experiences, such as, a horseback ride among the vineyards or different wine tastings with a visit to the winery.

In addition, a short distance away, you can visit the city of Brescia, characterized by the imposing castle. 

Finally, this hilly region, adjacent to the Lake d'Iseo è perfect for getting around by bike, for example by riding the Vello - Toline bicycle path, or for trekking up to the Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa.

11. Venice

Most iconic attractions in Venice include the famous Rialto BridgeSt. Mark's Square and the majestic Ducal Palace.

To truly experience the authentic essence of Venice, we recommend exploring the area near the Arsenale, where you can savor the delicious Venetian cicchetti.

The Scala Contarini del Bovolo è another must-see stop, a beautiful Gothic building embellished in the 16th century by a striking spiral staircase, called in Venetian “bovolo”.

12. Polignano a Mare and Monopoli

Polignano a Mare, nestled on the Apulian coast, is a small town perched on cliffs overlooking the sea.

The town is characterized by narrow alleys and panoramic balconies, offering breathtaking views, including the famous Lama Monachile, a small beach framed between two cliffs.

A few kilometers away is Monopoli, with its characteristic port full of fishing boats and historic center.

We recommend a visit to the Cathedral of Maria Santissima della Madia and a charming boat ride along the coast to admire the landscape from the sea.
