If you are looking for things to do and see in San Teodoro on vacation, here are the best ideas for 2025.
San Teodoro is located in the northeastern area of Sardinia and is famous for its white beaches with crystal clear water, among the most beloved in Sardinia, and its nightlife that caters to everyone's tastes.
You can reach it from Olbia in about 30 minutes by car following the SS131 road to the south or by public transport with line 514.

1. The historical center of San Teodoro
If you are in the vicinity of San Teodoro, we suggest you take a short walk through the center of the townà to enjoy a gelato or have a coffeeè or store in the small stores.
The historic center is developed around Piazza di Gallura, next to the church from which the town is named, dedicated to St. Theodore.
The center does not directly overlook the sea, but if you want to head toward the port, you can stop at the MAST, or the Museo Archeologico San Teodoro, also known as the Museo del Mare.
This small museum è divided into 2 parts: the archaeological one, free of charge, and the malacological one, accessible at a cost of 2€ per person. To be sure about the opening dates we recommend consult the website or call the reference number.
2. La Cinta Beach
Among the various attractions in San Teodoro, La Cinta è definitely one of the mostù toured with its 5km of fine sand and clear water.
The beach è at free access with no need for reservations to access it. To the south of the beach è there is a large parking lot to pay, but given the size of the beach we recommend arriving early in the morning to find a spot.
On the beach are present some services such as bars, sunbed and umbrella rentals or facilities for doing activities such as kayaking and windsurfing.
3. Lu Impostu Beach
The beach Lu Impostu is located 10 km più north of San Teodoro and is easily reached by car or bus. It is a long expanse of white sand with crystal clear sea.
On the beach are available some services such as a kiosk, umbrella rental and toilets.
The beach è a closed number and requires a reservation to get in at a cost of 2€ per person. È you can make reservations from 6 p.m. for the next day through the online form.
For those who è managed to reserve a place on the beach, there are 2 parking lots, one north and one south of the beach.
4. San Teodoro's flamingos
Behind La Cinta beach are the San Teodoro Pond, which is bigger, and the San Teodoro Lagoon, which is smaller and only present along the last stretch north of the beach.
Inside the Lagoon are several species of marsh and marine fauna, including the beautiful pink flamingos, the cormorant, heron and many other birds.
If you visit La Cinta beach or pass by the area, we suggest you make a brief stop to photograph them. È you can also follow some paths on foot to visit the lagoon.
5. The marine protected area of Tavolara and Molara
Just a little further north of San Teodoro is the Tavolara and Punta Coda Cavallo marine area, which protects 15 thousand hectares of sea and 76 km of coastline.
During your vacation days, we suggest you book a'boat trip or rent an inflatable boat to explore the area. If possible, we recommend boat trips with snorkeling, so you can observe the beauty of the area.
Prices for group outings start from 60€ per person and vary depending on the season.
6. Beach of Cala d'Ambra
Cala d'Ambra è the beach closest to the center of San Teodoro, in fact it is only 1km from the Piazza di Gallura, in the heart of the townà.
It has a convenient parking fee that però tends to fill up quickly, especially during the high season.
There are services such as bars, umbrella rental, dinghy rental and it is also possible to do activities such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The beach è also perfect for families with children asè the sand è white and fine and the water shallow.
7. Capo Coda Cavallo
The area of Capo Coda Cavallo, just 15km away from San Teodoro, è part of the Tavolara-Capo Coda Cavallo marine protected area. The name comes from the peculiar shape of the land, which resembles precisely the tail of a horse.
Turning northward, there is the beautiful Beach of Capo Coda Cavallo, as in the entire area, the water è very clear, but here the sand è alternated with stretches of rocks.
On the beach there are services such as sunbed rental and bar. The beach è can be easily reached by car thanks to a parking paid dirt parking, but it è not well served by buses.
8. What to do in San Teodoro in the evening
San Teodoro offers several options for those who enjoy nightlife. Indeed, around the townà there are several discos, such as Luna Glam Club and Ambra Night.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for cocktail bars where you can have aperitifs followed by happy hour, we suggest Bollicine and Bal Harbour.
9. Horse riding in Budoni
Among the various activities that can be done in the San Teodoro area, we recommend a horseback ride to Budoni, 10 km further south of San Teodoro.
You can choose from 2 options: the rise ride, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the sunset ride, lasting 1 hour.
Both walks are suitable for beginners and also for children from 5 years old. The cost starts from 45€ per person.
10. Trekking on Mount Nieddu
For mountain lovers we recommend the trekking to the waterfalls of Pitrisconi on Mt. Nieddu. È a loop trail of medium difficulty, about 6 km long and 600 m of elevation gain.
We start and return from the parking of Monte Nieddu and just follow the signs for the waterfalls and natural pools. The total duration varies from 3 to 4 hours.
11. Eating fresh fish
Among the various activities to do in San Teodoro, but more generally at the seaside, you can't miss eating good fresh fish.
For example, at the Trattoria Don Giovanni, in the historic center of San Teodoro, you can taste fresh fish, typical Sardinian food with low prices.
Just outside the center, on the other hand, find the Ristorante La Runcina which offers a menuù full of fresh fish dishes.
12. What to see near San Teodoro
In the surroundings of San Teodoro there are several villages worth visiting, such as Posada, which can be reached in 20 minutes by car by following the SS131 southward.
This town has a beautiful medieval village on a promontory, dominated by a castle called Castello della Fava.
In addition, in the from San Teodoro to Orosei there are several archaeological sites open to the public where you can visit remains of the Nuragic culture.
You could, for example, drop by the Tomb of the Giants S'Ena e Thomes in Dorgali, that is a vertical stone almost 4 meters high.
13. Fishing tourism in Golfo Aranci
In the Gulf of Oranges, just north of San Teodoro, you might try a fishing experience.
During the day, accompanied by some experienced guides, you will catch fresh fish which you will then cook and eat for lunch.
The cost of the experience'is 110€ per person for adults and 80€ per person for children. Some stops for swimming in the sea are also planned during the outing.
