1. Taking a guided snowshoe hike in Chiesa in Valmalenco

Based on your preferences, you can opt for different types of tours: group snowshoeing during the day or with dinner at the lodge, or you can choose to have the experience exclusively.

The technically easy snowshoeing tours are suitable for anyone in good health, the duration è of 6 hours.

The clothing notè included in the participation fee, as is the head flashlight, very useful for hiking at dusk. The cost starts from 40€ per person.

2. Making a trek to Palu Lake

Trekking to Lake Palù è an experience that we recommend you do all year round. During the summer, the start is located at "I Barchi" while in winter you will need to start from the arrival of the chairlift.

When you arrive at your destination, you can take a trekking loop along the lake.

Also, during the hike, you will have the opportunity to stop at the helter Palù and return to the starting point by snowmobile transport, starting from 5€ per person.

3. Become a cheese maker for a day

At the Lenatti Farm, you will have the opportunity to make authentic Valtellina DOC cheese. Alberto and Claudio, master cheesemakers, will teach you how to make the famous Bitto and Scimudin.

At the end, a tasting will follow. By going directly to the farm, in Via Funivia 26 in Chiesa in Valmalenco, you can get more information.

4. Skiing in Chiesa Valmalenco

Chiesa Valmalenco offers several trails for training, from blue runs to black runs. All the slopes are developed in the heart of the Alpe Palù. You can choose from several types of skipass, starting from 55€ per person.

Also, not far away, in Lanzada, you will have the opportunity to take a sled or bobsleigh ride, recommended even for the youngest.

Finally, in the winter period, the outdoor slopes of Caspoggio and Lanzada, offer the possibility of ice skating, an excellent alternative for non-skiers, suitable for both adults and children.

5. Spending a night in a snowmobile

2 Hearts on the Slope, è the ideal suite we recommend for spending a night in an unusual setting. In fact, you will have the opportunity to sleep in a room positioned on a snowcat, directly on the slopes.

The experience includes, in addition to lodging: transportation, a typical Valtellina dinner and breakfast in your room, with an extraordinary view of the Alps.

The cost varies from 550€ on weekdays, to 680€ on holidays.

6. Trying typical dishes

In the townà of Chiesa in Valmalenco, we recommend Bottega di Nonna Patrizia, the perfect place to do a typical shopping, or a pic-nic

In addition, the restaurant Ai Portoni can be an opportunity to try traditional dishes, such as: pizzoccheri, spaghettoni with ragù and guanciale with polenta.

Finally, you can enjoy: ribs, sausages, taròz, mushrooms and other local specialties at the rifugio Zoia, reachable either by car, in case of favorable weather conditions, or by a 3-hourtrekking.

7. Taking a water excursion

The Valtellina and especially the Cormor stream are perfect for adrenaline-pumping activities, such as speleo canyoning, which is a descent between rocks, sometimes underground, down a stream.

But not only that, not far from Chiesa Valmalenco, you can try out the hydrospeed, or the classic rafting on the Adda.

These experiences have different costs, starting from 50€ per person.

8. Visiting historic villages

In the area adjacent to Chiesa in Valmalenco, you can walk among several villages, including: Spriana and San Giuseppe in Valcamenco.

These two villages are just a 10-minute drive from Chiesa Valmalenco and offer striking views of the mountains and old stone houses.

In addition, Spriana, with its 77 inhabitants, è one of the smallest villages in Italy and is referred to as an open-air nativity scene, especially at Christmas time.

9. Taking an e-bike tour with aperitif

You can have this experience in the summer season by opting for an e-bike tour with aperitif, which will allow you to explore the quaint Malencian villages. The cost starts from 90€ per person and booking requires a minimum of 2 participants.

Alternatively, you will have the option of taking the tour with the lunch, which departs from Sondrio and takes you to high altitude, where you can enjoy a lunch surrounded by beautiful scenery. The duration è of 7 hours, the cost startsfrom 145€ per person and the tour requires a minimum of 3 participants.

10. Visiting the Bagnada Mine

The Bagnada Mine is located in Lanzada, a 5-minute drive from the town of Chiesa Valmalenco. You will have the opportunity, not only to visit the bagnada mine, but also the adjacent museum.

The entrance to the mine is reached on foot after about a 15-minute climb along a path through a forest. For this experience, we recommend comfortable clothing, with long pants and boots.

The cost of the ticket starts from 13€ per person and you can book via mail.

11. Making a loop trek to the Piani di Fora

In the spring and fall season, we recommend a path between Curlo, Chiareggio and the Longoni hut.

This trek è advisable for experts, as it involves a treacherous trail with limited access sections.

Finally, upon reaching the Longoni Shelter, at 2450 meters, you can stay in the shelter separately from 25€ per person, with breakfast included.
