1. Skiing in Val Gardena

Alpe di Siusi, Rasciesa and Seceda can be easily reached from Ortisei, with slopes suitable for all levels of experience.

Precisely, from Ortisei you can reach the ski area of Val Gardena and Alpe di Siusi, encompassing more than 175 kilometers of slopes and is considered one of the best ski areas in Italy.

The ski pass starts at €67 per person, and it is also possible to purchase a ski pass to access the entire Dolomiti superki area with more than 1,200 kilometers of slopes

2. Dinner at a mountain hut in Val Gardena

For an authentic gastronomic experience, we recommend a chalet dinner in Santa Cristina.

With a 5-course tasting menu prepared with local ingredients, you'll have the chance to savor authentic Ladin cuisine.

The price of the menu starts from 60€ per person

3. Tobogganing down the Rasciesa slope

From the Resciesa mountain station, there is the most beautiful toboggan run in Val Gardena.

The slope is about 6 kilometers long with 600 meters of elevation gain, and during the descent you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Sella Massif, Marmolada, Sassolungo Group and the Sciliar.

The daily price with unlimited descents starts from 45€ per person, including toboggan rental

4. Zipline on Mount Pana

A few kilometers from Ortisei, there is a new zipline on Mount Pana to have fun with.

The adrenaline-fueled descent is about 1.5 kilometers long for more than 400 meters of elevation gain, and you'll hit 90 km/h.

The total duration of the experience is 45 minutes and the price starts from 58€ per person, plus you can request a video with GoPro for 20€

5. Walks in Ortisei in winter

The Val Gardena area is rich in walks that can be done in winter on your own or with a local guide.

Between Ortisei, Selva and Santa Cristina there are more than 10 trails of different levels.

Among them, we would like to recommend the walk to the Alpe di Siusi. It is an easy trail of about 5.5 kilometers where you can admire the surrounding mountains of Sassolungo, Sasso Piatto and Sciliar.

On the other hand, a medium difficulty walk that we suggest is thehike under the Odle, about 5 kilometers long, you will be able to explore one of the parks of the Dolomites considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Appropriate winter clothing is required to tackle the hikes

6. Walk with Alpacas in Soprabolzano

For younger children and animal lovers, we suggest a snow walk with alpacas and llamas less than an hour from Ortisei.

Both private and group hikes are available with durations ranging from 1 hour to 3 1/2 hours. At the end of the 1-hour or 1 1/2-hour walk, the farm offers the option of lunch or dinner.

The price for a walk starts from 40€ for an adult and 15€ for a child (up to 11 years old)

7. Relaxing at the Mar Dolomit in Ortisei

For a different day away from the slopes, we suggest a day at Mar Dolomit, especially if the hotel where you are staying does not have a spa.

The facility has pools where you can swim, a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and you can also book a massage.

The price for the pool starts from about 13€ while for the sauna from 25€

8. Activities in Ortisei for children in winter

The Sassolungo snowpark, accessible by the Gran Paradiso chairlift, consists of several attractions to entertain both adults and children.

Alternatively, in Ortisei, theFurdenan lift is equipped with games, small obstacles and the "bigairbag" to keep children entertained.

The snowparks are accessible with the Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi ski pass (from €67 per person), however we recommend purchasing Dolomiti Superski (from €72 per person), which also allows access to the parks in the Canazei ski area
