Livigno is a must-see destination for lovers of nature, sports and mountain culture and offers activities for young and old and for all seasons.

Summer in Livigno: five activities for kids in contact with nature

1. Easy and accessible treks

Livigno offers plenty of hiking trails suitable for young children. Flat, easy-to-follow trails lead to fascinating places, such as the Crap de la Parè with spectacular views of the valley or like Livigno Lake, where children can play on the beach, and, for older children, you can even rent equipment for activities such as kayaking and SUP.

2. Junior Bike Park

Cycling-loving children can enjoy the fun of the Junior Bike Park, a safe area dedicated to their first mountain biking experiences. With trails suitable for all abilities, the Bike Park is as suitable for toddlers who have just learned to ride as it is for older children who want to feel the speed and slightly more challenging trails.

3. Get to know the mountain culture among refuges and mountain huts

Many of the huts and refuges found along the trails offer families the opportunity to learn about how not only typical mountain dishes are prepared but also how raw materials are created, from raising cows to milking to making butter and cheese typical of the valley.

It is an experience that broadens the mind and expands horizons, helping children connect with a different culture.

One example out of all is the Malga Alpe Mine, in the valley whose name it bears, where butter, cheese and sausages typical of the mountains are produced, and in addition to learning about the production processes and tasting the dishes prepared by the kitchen, you can also choose to stay in one of the three rooms for an unforgettable experience immersed in nature.

4. Walk to meet the alpacas

These curious and unusual animals are native to the mountains of South America, but in our Alps they have found an ideal climate, very similar to that of the territory from which they come.

Walking with alpacas and llamas through the forests and meadows of the mountains surrounding Livigno is a wonderful experience that combines the pleasure of being in an unspoiled natural environment with the chance to get to know these curious and unusual animals up close.

Children will greatly appreciate the opportunity to lead an alpaca on a walk and will be surprised and amused by the softness of their fur and their being playful and friendly animals.

5. Adventure park for an adrenaline-filled afternoon with the family

Larix Park is an adventure park where parents, children and teens can spend moments of fun and games, testing their mettle in maximum safety.

The park is set in a larch forest not far from the center of Livigno and includes a wide range of experiences for all tastes.

10 different trails with elements with attractions created with natural elements or reminders of the spirit of the mountains such as ropes to hold on to, zipper lines, sleds and logs.

For the safety of all adventurers, the trails are categorized by height: two are suitable for everyone while the others have special restrictions that make them suitable for older children, teenagers or adults.
The park also features a snack bar and picnic area to make your day an opportunity to create wonderful family memories.

Winter snow activities for children

6. Children's Ski Courses

Livigno is renowned for its excellent children's ski courses. Experienced instructors teach young skiers the basics of skiing in a fun and safe way, allowing them to gain confidence and mastery on skis.

Livigno's ski area runs on both sides of the valley, totaling more than 100 kilometers of slopes for all levels so families can choose easier or more complex routes, depending on the age and skill level of the little skiers.

7. Baby Snow Park

The Baby Snow Park is an area dedicated to children who are getting into snowboarding or freestyle skiing for the first time. Here children can play on small ramps and structures, playfully learning their first snow stunts.

8. Night Snowshoeing

For slightly older children, a snowshoe hike under starlight is a magical experience. They will be thrilled to walk in fresh snow and enjoy the tranquility of the mountain night under a sky that is almost totally free of light pollution, providing breathtaking views of the Milky Way.

Even for the inexperienced, the valley offers easy routes suitable for everyone, and in the village you can rent all the necessary equipment and even join guided tours.

Winter in Livigno offers great opportunities for family fun with children of all ages and in all seasons.

In summer as in winter, Livigno offers numerous opportunities for families traveling with children of all ages who enjoy nature and mountain experiences
