1. Strolling through the center of Madesimo
In this small town, you will have the opportunity to stroll through the old town, savoring the Madesimo cake, with buckwheat and blueberries, a real treat.
In addition, you can play with a giant chessboard, in Bertacchi Square, in the center of the village, freely and for free.
Finally, a short distance away, we recommend you visit the Museum of the Via Spluga, which can be visited with a ticket starting from 5€ per person, or cross the Tibetan Bridge of “San Luigi Guanella".
2. Trying typical dishes in the refuge
In Madesimo, you can taste various typical dishes, from gnocchetti valchiavennaschi, to polenta taragna with ribs, to blueberry pie.
We recommend, in the vicinity of the slopes, Ristoro Larici, a typical restaurant that can be reached by cable car. Both at lunch and at dinner it offers two types of menù, starting from 28€ per person.

3. Horse riding
In Madesimo, during the summertime, you can go on a horseback ride in the woods of Valchiavenna, starting from Alpe Motta in Madesimo. During the experience you will make a stop at Lago Azzurro.
In contrast, in winter, we recommend horseback riding by the river in Valchiavenna. For both experiences you can choose the tour from: 1, 2 or 3 hours.

During the summer season, starting in June, you can explore the SplugaPark, in Campodolcino, which is located 15 minutes from Madesimo.
