1. Tobogganing Run at Baranci
We recommend a perfect experience to have with children or with friends: a tobogganing run down the slope. You can choose between a daily ticket or one valid only for the afternoon.
Sled rentals are not included in the price and are available at on-site rental facilities. The cost of the experience starts from 39€ per person.
2. Trying typical dishes
The signature dessert of Innichen is the strudel, which we recommend you try at Trenker Bakery.
For lunch or a break on the slopes, we suggest the Rifugio Baranci, which offers traditional dishes and desserts, such as kaiserschmarrn: flaky crepes served with cranberry jam.
Finally, in Toblach, just a short distance from San Candido, we recommend the Kugler Speckstube, the perfect place to try handmade Tyrolean ravioli and homemade speck.
3. Skiing in San Candido
San Candido is home to the Monte Baranci ski area, ideal for both adults and children.
For the little ones, we also recommend the Ski Area Alpe Lusia, which offers numerous play areas, ski schools and fun activities such as tobogganing. The cost of the ski pass starts from 70€ per person.
Finally, for those who do not ski, we suggest trying ice skating, at ice rinks, such as the one in Dobbiaco.
4. A walk through the center of San Candido
We recommend a stroll through the streets of San Candido, where you can admire elegant brick-built Alpine-style buildings, such as Villa Wachtler, which, however, cannot be visited internally as it is privately owned.
Also worth a visit are the small cemetery next to the Collegiate and St. Michael's Square, the centerpiece of the village.
5. Fun bobsleigh on Monte Baranci
The Fun Bob on Mount Baranci, in San Candido, near Tre Cime di Lavaredo, is a fun activity suitable for both adults and children.
In addition, by purchasing a ticket, you will be entitled to a second descent in homage!"
The cost of the experience starts from 16€ per person, for adults and 12€ per person, for children.
6. Admiring the Three Peaks
To admire Tre Cime di Lavaredo from a unique perspective and enjoy a breathtaking view, we recommend a cable car ride that starts from San Candido.
This experience can be enhanced with a lunch at high altitude.
The cost for ascent and descent starts from 27€ per person.
7. Trekking at Lake Braies
During the summer time we recommend this trekking, also ideal for families.
From the starting point, you can follow trail number 19, which leads to the western shore of Lake Braies. The route, which is easy to walk, takes about 1 hour.
We also recommend visiting the San Candido Baths, which can be reached by a 45-minute walk. Once you arrive, you will have the opportunity to taste the water from the mineral springs.
8. Visit Loacker Museum
Crossing the Austrian border, a 15-minute drive away, we recommend visiting the Loacker Museum.
Here, you will have the opportunity to trace the history of the Loacker brand by visiting the museum free of charge, as well as buy their products.
We recommend this activity to try the new products, which, in Italy, are not on sale, but not only that. In fact, Loacker also organizes tactile workshops for the little ones.
9. Having fun at the Acquafun Water Park
For families and groups of friends, we recommend the Acquafun water park in San Candido.
In addition to slides and various pools, the facility also offers a sauna service, accessible with a separate ticket. The daily admission cost starts from 14€ per person.
Alternatively, we suggest the wellness path at the Berghotel Sexten, with rates starting from 41€ per person.
10. Taking a tour in MB
During the fall season, to immerse yourself in the warm colors of the foliage, we recommend the Drava Cycleway, which connects San Candido to Lienz, Austria.
The route, suitable for everyone, allows you to rent bicycles on site and comfortably return to San Candido by train, with a journey of only 20 minutes.
Recommended rentals include the Papin Rentals and the Trojer Martin Rentals, which offer an additional service, at a cost of 7€, to bring bicycles back to San Candido. Daily rentals start from 20€ per person.
